Performances and Ticket Information

We pride ourselves on making theatre accessible and inspiring for young people and to encourage them to become passionate lifelong theatre-goers. We hope that the following information will help you plan a visit if you are bringing a school or youth group to one of our shows.

We have two performance spaces: a beautiful Victorian auditorium and a more modern, intimate studio theatre. These are both in the same location on Regent Street, Cheltenham, and both host a variety of shows.

The main auditorium has a maximum capacity of 718 over four levels - please see the seating plan below. It is rare that every ticket is sold as we remove seats to accommodate customers with access needs and for technical support - for example, to create space for a sound desk and lighting positions. The seating plan lists how many seats are on each level so we hope this will help when planning your visit. Please specify which level you prefer when completing the booking form - we will allocate the closest possible seats as an alternative if the requested seating is not available.

The Irving Studio Theatre holds a maximum of 60 people and is a flexible space where the seating is reconfigured depending on the show. The seating is unreserved, however, we will endeavour to make sure a group is seated together. We encourage schools and youth groups to bring their young people to this unique creative space to experience the eclectic mix of work, from small-scale touring companies to new writing.

School/Youth Group Booking Form

Please read the information below before filling in the booking form.

If you would like to book for our pantomime please go to our schools' panto page instead.

Once we have received the form, we will reserve your tickets, if available, and send you a confirmation email and invoice. Tickets must be paid for at least six weeks before the performance date - if you are booking within six weeks of the performance we will contact you to discuss a suitable date. Adjustments can be made to the reservation whilst the tickets are on hold, however, we are unable to offer exchanges or refunds once you have confirmed and paid.

We offer education saver rate tickets for selected shows - these are often half price but please ask for further details.

Otherwise, we offer group rates where parties of 10 + receive a discount of £3 off price bands 1 - 3 for every performance on selected shows. In addition to the £3 discount, groups of 20 or receive a free organiser's ticket (+ 1 free ticket for every 20) when booking group tickets. Education saver tickets do not include free tickets as they are already heavily discounted.

Please note, discounts vary for one-night shows, pantomime and Irving Studio performances.

Any other offers or price rates do not include free tickets (unless specified).

Once your booking is confirmed, we can offer you either printed tickets to distribute to individual students, or we can issue a highlighted seating plan which can be used instead of tickets to gain entry. To use the highlighted seating plan you will need to arrive as one group and enter the auditorium together. Please let us know your preference when booking. Please note, all primary schools are issued highlighted seating plans for the pantomime, we do not print out individual tickets.

Why not add a backstage tour, workshop or careers talk to your visit to offer your students the best experience? You can find more information on the Extras page.

We also welcome home education groups and are pleased to be able to offer them the same services and discounts as school groups.

We hope to make the booking process as easy as possible so please get in touch so that we can help to support your visit:
