The Everyman strives to make theatre as accessible as possible to all of our audience members and we are particularly keen to offer young people the opportunity to experience the joy of live theatre, whatever their socio-economic background, and therefore we have accessible solutions and financial support available for those who need it.
The Everyman is committed to ensuring that theatre truly is for everyone and we are proud to have a strong and successful accessible performance programme. In our mission to make sure we can welcome as many people as possible to our venue, we have solutions in place and resources available to ensure every audience member can enjoy the magic of live theatre.
Access performances
We offer audio described performances for visually impaired and blind audience members; relaxed performances for people with an autistic spectrum condition, those with sensory and communication disorders, those with learning disabilities and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment, such as pre-school children and people living with dementia. We also provide captioned and BSL performances to support hard of hearing/deaf audience members, as well as offering sound enhancement headsets for every performance.
In addition to these assisted performances, we offer a warm welcome to assistance dogs; a chill out space during relaxed performances; as well as offering reserved spaces for audience members using wheelchairs or mobility aids to enable them to sit with the rest of the group - please let us know at the time of booking.
To learn more, please explore the Access In The Main House page, and for information regarding the Irving Studio Theatre please view the Access In The Rest Of The Theatre page.

Relaxed pack and the accessible journey
Some children may find visiting the theatre a little overwhelming so we’re here to help.
We have a general relaxed pack and visual story available to help prepare your children for their visit. We hope these resources will offer support by familiarising them with the building, the characters and the story, as well as offering guidance on what to expect from their visit.
You can download the relaxed pack by following the link below. The relaxed pack includes photographs and information to help your students know what to expect when visiting the theatre, which is especially helpful if it's their first time:
More information about parking and arriving at the Theatre is available to view on our Accessible Journey To The Everyman Theatre page.
Trigger warnings
Please check our Trigger Warnings page if you are concerned that you or a member of your group could be effected by some of the content.
Financial support
The Everyman strives to offer heavily discounted education saver tickets to schools, but if you find that you are still struggling with the cost of the theatre tickets or coach transport, please contact us on groupsales@everymantheatre.org.uk and we’ll do anything we can to help support your visit to us.
We work in partnership with the charity theatre works! who may be able to provide funding for your tickets or transport, if you are eligible:
- 40% or more children are Pupil Premium
- children should be Key Stage 2-4, ages 7-16
theatre works! is a charity dedicated to providing theatre and related educational experiences to children and young people who might not normally have access to the theatre. They provide discounted or free theatre tickets through theatres, schools and youth groups.
