Selected shows have educational resources available - they will be available to download here.

Relaxed Pack

We offer relaxed performances for selected shows and these are supported by a relaxed pack with a visual story. These packs will help to prepare your students and young people for their visit before the day of the performance - please find links below:

Backstage Tours

Built in 1891, the Everyman Theatre was designed by celebrated Victorian architect, Frank Matcham, and has a rich history as a staple of the Cheltenham town centre for over 130 years!

Visit the oldest working Matcham Victorian theatre, now a prized historical, architectural and theatrical treasure in the heart of Cheltenham. Learn about the rich history of the theatre, its founding in Regency Cheltenham and its theatrical pedigree with a special fully-guided backstage tour. Discover more about careers in a creative industry and all about a day in the life of a busy working theatre.

We love to be able to offer school and youth groups the opportunity to see behind the scenes and learn more about the live theatre industry. Groups have the opportunity to peek into the stars' dressing rooms, the actors' green room, costume store.. and so much more - before stepping onto the Everyman stage to take in the splendour of the beautifully restored Victorian auditorium. We are a working theatre so visiting some of these areas is subject to availability and safety restrictions, but we do try and schedule tours at a suitable time so that we can show you as much as possible!

Please email sally-ann.rhodes@everymantheatre.org.uk if you are interested in discussing further and booking a tour of the theatre.

Careers Talks

We are also able to offer bespoke career talks with selected staff members from a range of departments in the theatre: marketing, box office, front of house and backstage. This is a great opportunity for young people to learn more about the jobs available in the theatre industry and discover how a busy theatre runs.

Please email sally-ann.rhodes@everymantheatre.org.uk if you are interested in further details or to book a careers talk.

Workshops

The theatre's education and community department can organise workshops at your school or meeting place to either link in with your visit to the theatre or for another topic you are covering at school.

Please email stella.buckland@everymantheatre.org.uk if you are interested in booking a workshop.

Work Experience

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any work experience opportunities to students or young people.

However, we are delighted to have a partnership with Stage Door Learning, a performing arts focussed Sixth Form, that offers students the opportunity to gain a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts - you can find out more information here.
