Spotlight Club

The Spotlight Club is our new theatre interest group for people over 50 who would like to meet fellow enthusiasts to learn more about different aspects of theatre, share experiences, have some fun and maybe see a show or two.

During a very successful trial at The School House Café during February and March we enjoyed a theatre quiz, a talk about the history of the Everyman Theatre and several guest speakers from the theatre industry.

This month, for the first session at the Everyman Theatre, the group enjoyed a talk from Theatre Manager, Jenny Wicks, about planning a pantomime and running a theatre company. We were then joined by Wendi Peters from the cast of Glorious, before watching the matinee of the show.

Future talks will include, "From Page to Stage" on how the written by play becomes the end production, a talk and tour with Roger Hendry, an access talk; on how we make theatre accessible, plus a writing workshop.

Each month we will have a variety of different workshops, talks and activities.

Currently the group is meeting once a month at the Everyman Theatre until July.

After this point it will move to it's new permanent home at the Everyman Education Centre on Grove Street.
