Golden Voices

Our Golden Voices choir is using the power of music and community to help those living with dementia and their family and carers. Our choir members share joy, connection and laughter while singing their favourite songs from movies, musicals and popular music.

Sessions are FREE and take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 3pm - 3.45pm, followed by refreshments, at the Waitrose Cheltenham Cafe. Please come along and join our friendly sessions, or email community@everymantheatre.org.uk

(My mother-in law) Madeline absolutely loves the sessions; it really makes her week. She adores music, it takes her back to her youth, and you always make sure you play all her favourites - this week it's "Don't cry for me Argentina" but her absolute favourite is "Dancing Queen" by Abba, which you played last week. She talks about the sessions at home, and recollects the songs that were sung with a smile on her face.

Family carer and Golden Voices (dementia choir) member

Golden Voices was absolutely amazing for my mum who suffers with Alzheimers Dementia.  Honestly I've taken her to various activities and she has moments of focus but this singing workshop she sang to every song for the full 45 minutes. I will definitely keep bringing her.  She thoroughly enjoyed it and all the staff were so welcoming and so wonderful with her.  I really hope it continues as it is also such a lifeline to carers who can feel so isolated. It's just such a positive, refuelling time that helps the carer get through the week. Thank you so much to all involved.
