We hope you will find everything here that you need to plan your visit, however, if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us on groupsales@everymantheatre.org.uk.

TICKETS/SEATING PLANS

Once your booking is confirmed, we can offer you either printed tickets to distribute to individual students, or we can issue a highlighted seating plan which can be used instead of tickets to gain entry. To use the highlighted seating plan you will need to arrive as one group and enter the auditorium together. Please let us know your preference when booking.

Please note, all primary schools are issued highlighted seating plans for the pantomime, we do not print out individual tickets - and we recommend this for all shows.

For secondary schools, we suggest that older students have individual printed tickets if organisers are anticipating that their students may want to enter and leave the auditorium unaccompanied. We also issue a highlighted seating plan so you can organise seating arrangements in advance - this also helps to prevent any confusion when you arrive, particularly if you are bringing a large group.

For both primary and secondary schools, it's important that you plan seating arrangements before the day of your visit so that teachers and their classes are aware of where to sit. This will ensure that we can get you seated as quickly as possible - leaving ample time for toilet trips before the start of the performance!

Please let the Front of House team know if you would like anyone sat anywhere specific so they can help get you seated - this is particularly important for any students or adults that may have access needs.

You can find a copy of the seating plan, including the total number of tickets on each level and seat numbers, at the bottom of this page.

COACHES AND MINIBUSES

Please note, Regent Street is a dead-end road and there is not enough space for coaches to park, unload or turn around.

Please note, we have a different system in place for our pantomime season, click here to find more information.

Minibuses are permitted to drive into Regent Street, so there is an option of students being dropped off with a member of staff directly outside the theatre, however the street is a no through road and gets very congested at times, especially during the day during the festive period.

Minibuses are permitted to park in Rodney Road open air car park which is a five minute walk from the theatre:

https://www.cheltenham.gov.uk/directory_record/55331/rodney_roa

Another option is to park the minibus at one of the four allocated bays at Royal Well Bus Station (behind the Municipal Offices). Please be aware that these are popular and are allocated on a strictly first to arrive basis. It will take about eight minutes to walk to the theatre from here.

We suggest that you contact the parking office at Cheltenham Borough Council on 01242 262626 as parking options can change depending on festivals and events happening in the town.

ON ARRIVAL AT THE THEATRE

If you are a large group of 30+ we ask that you wait outside when you arrive at the theatre, until  all of your group members have assembled and are ready to be seated. Our foyer is very small and can get busy very quickly, so this can help ease congestion and speed up entry into the auditorium.

A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Information for schools visiting the main house and the Irving Studio Theatre.

We love to welcome school groups to the Everyman and hope that your students will enjoy the magic of live theatre.

Please read the following useful information and please share the code of conduct with your students before your visit (see below)

We do appreciate that many teachers have considerable experience of escorting groups of students to the theatre and may have already adopted some of the suggestions listed below. They are designed to improve the Everyman experience for everybody.

  • The show cannot wait for a school party that is running late. Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable point in the performance, so to avoid disappointment we recommend that you allow plenty of time for your journey. Cheltenham can be very busy during the festivals and festive seasons.

  • Likewise, please ensure your students are back in their seats in plenty of time at the end of the interval.

  • No hot food to be consumed in the main house auditorium.

  • Food and drink is strongly discouraged during any performance in the Irving Studio Theatre. Please be aware, this is an intimate space and can be very distracting for the actors and other audience members if they can hear confectionery wrappers being rustled!

  • The Irving Studio Theatre has unreserved seating so please be aware that you do not have specific seats allocated to you. Everyone needs to have purchased a ticket to gain entry - please purchase tickets for staff as well as for your students.

  • Mobile phones must be switched off in the theatre and photography is not permitted.

  • Booster cushions are not usually necessary for secondary school pupils. For those who do need one, we ask that they are restricted to one per child and that they return them after the show.

  • If you would like to have ice creams delivered to your seats, please contact: di.gallagher@everymantheatre.org.uk to order at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Ushers will come round during the interval to collect rubbish. In addition, black bags are available on request.

  • The auditorium needs to be clear as soon as possible on days when there is more than one performance, to re-set for the next show. To help us achieve this, if children are using the toilets after the performance, please may we ask that you wait for them in the foyers rather than the auditorium.

  • Whilst we at the Everyman welcome school parties, please be aware that some of our audience can find large groups of teenagers intimidating. Please remind your students to be respectful of other members of the audience.

  • The Everyman will not exclude anybody from its work unless they are deliberately interrupting others’ enjoyment through antisocial or inappropriate behaviour.

May we politely remind all teachers and support staff who are accompanying students to the theatre that they are responsible for the welfare, conduct, and health and safety of their students at all times during their visit.

The Everyman promotes a culture of inclusivity, respect and tolerance and we thank you for working with us to achieve this.

Thank you for your cooperation and we hope you enjoy the show - please let us know!

CODE OF CONDUCT

We have a code of conduct in place for all visitors to our venue - please make sure all members of your group are aware of this before your visit.

May we politely remind all teachers and support staff who are accompanying students to the theatre that they are responsible for the welfare, conduct, and health and safety of their students at all times during their visit.

The Everyman promotes a culture of inclusivity, respect and tolerance and we thank you for working with us to achieve this.
