Please read through this information before attending the pantomime with your school as these steps will help improve the Everyman experience for everybody. Information for midweek school performances at 10.00am and 2.00pm during term time
The running time for school performances of Aladdin is two hours including a 15 minute interval - so 10:00am performances should finish at midday and 2:00pm performances should finish at 4:00pm.
The show cannot wait for a school party that is running late. We recommend that you allow plenty of time for your journey – Cheltenham can be very busy during the festive season in particular.
Once your booking is confirmed and paid for, you will receive a highlighted seating plan by email. Please present this to the front of house staff on arrival, rather than individual printed tickets, this will help us to seat your group more efficiently. For both primary and secondary schools, it's important that you plan seating arrangements before the day of your visit so that teachers and their classes are aware of where to sit. This will ensure that we can get you seated as quickly as possible - leaving ample time for toilet trips before the start of the performance!
We recommend seating older/taller children in front of smaller children as the seats are steeply raked on the upper levels so smaller children will still be able to see over the heads of the taller children in front.
No hot food to be consumed in the auditorium. Hot drinks are permitted if purchased onsite at our café bar.
We also request that if you are bringing food for your students, that it is something that is easy to clear up if spilled. We have a very short turn around between performances and need to make sure the auditorium is a comfortable place for our next audience. We do not allow popcorn into the auditorium (unless special permission has been given by a member of Everyman Theatre staff).
Mobile phones must be switched off in the theatre and photography is not permitted.
Booster seats are not permitted on the upper three levels (and should only be needed in the stalls on rare occasions when children find themselves seated behind adults). Please ask an usher if you feel they are needed in the stalls. Please note, we recommend getting children in their seats to see if they need a booster seat once you know who is sitting in front of them.
If you would like to have ice-creams delivered to your seats during the interval please fill in the order form which can be found here.
Black bags are available on request. In addition, ushers will come round during the interval to collect rubbish.
The auditorium needs to be clear as soon as possible to re-set for the next show. To help us achieve this, if children are using the toilets after the performance, please may we ask that you wait for them in the foyers rather than the auditorium.
Thank you for your cooperation and we hope you enjoy the show!
Information for weekend and evening school and youth group visits
The running time of public performances of Aladdin have not yet been confirmed but we are working towards two hours including a 20 minute interval. Please check again in the autumn for a more accurate running time. Content warning for public performances: Panto is a lot of fun, but sometimes it can be a little bit loud, and a little bit cheeky, with some jokes that only grown-ups will understand. Please bear this in mind if you are bringing anyone under the age of 5, or anyone with a nervous or more sensitive disposition.
If you would like to have ice-creams delivered to your seats during the interval please fill in the order form which can be found here.
You will be issued printed tickets or a highlighted seating plan - please discuss at the time of booking.
Information for the Youth Uniformed Performance
Please note, the Youth Uniformed Performance will follow the same guidelines as the midweek school performances.
A separate ice cream order form will be available to order in advance for groups of 30 or more.
Code of conduct
May we politely remind all teachers and support staff who are accompanying students to the theatre that they are responsible for the welfare, conduct, and health and safety of their students at all times during the visit.
You can find a copy of our Code of Conduct here.
Please make sure everyone attending is aware of this before your visit.
Feedback
We are always discussing ways to improve your experience and make our pantomime more accessible to schools – performance times, prices, risk assessments etc.
We always welcome feedback about your visit even if it’s about expensive coach travel! It helps us to understand what challenges face schools bringing their students to the theatre.
Please contact our Group Booking team on groupsales@everymantheatre.org.uk or the Deputy Theatre Manager: jenny.wicks@everymantheatre.org.uk if you have anything (big or small) to tell us. We always like to hear from you!
