Trying something new in your 50s is hard, but adding in the challenges of depression, ADHD and autism I often experience crippling anxiety. Walking through the doors for my first session was huge for me as I was not in a good place…12 months on it’s the social side of the choir that’s really changed things for me. If you’d said last year, I’d be on stage singing with a choir I’d have not believed you. There is literally a place for EVERY voice in our choir.

Vincent, Everyvoice Member

Caroline and Julia were so encouraging, they immediately helped the group and myself feel at ease and relaxed. Caroline brought so much energy and vitality with her and really enthused everyone to get involved, it is really clear they love what they do and are passionate about how singing can help with mental health and wellbeing. So many of the women we work with have experienced a range of trauma and very challenging circumstances in their lives, this was an amazing opportunity for them to feel a sense of calm and escape for a while. I could see their confidence grow with every song and they said how much it helped them feel grounded for the rest of their day. The staff that were involved with this too said that they felt it helped with their wellbeing too! We can't thank you enough for your time, energy and commitment to this

Louise, Peer Mentor Co-ordinator, The Nelson Trust

Personally I joined the choir at a low point in my life, it gave me a weekly boost of happiness when I needed it most. I see many others go through a similar journey and become part of what is a genuine family of truly caring people. Choir people seem to be naturally good people, singing in a group requires co-operation and leaving your ego at the door. I have made lifelong friendships over the years that extend way beyond choir activities

I was recently involved in the Everyvoice parent and baby choir and I think it was one of the nicest things I have ever done. Everyman Theatre do lots of community things so check them out!
