We know that for school children, especially for the younger years, coming to the pantomime could be their first experience of live theatre, and therefore can feel a little bit overwhelming for some. We are here to help! Anyone struggling with the busy, and sometimes noisy, environment inside the auditorium is welcome to leave and take a few minutes to relax and sit in the circle bar on the first floor instead. Here we have comfortable chairs, jugs of water available and most importantly, a television screen showing a live feed of the performance so no one has to miss out. We also have ear defenders available at the kiosk that you are welcome to borrow - please just ask one of our friendly team!
In addition to this, we have a relaxed pack available, which supports our relaxed performances but much of it is relevant if you visit us for another performance too. It helps to prepare your children for their visit by including photos of inside the theatre and information about what to expect. There will also be a visual story available at the beginning of December - this is a wonderful resource to introduce your children to the actors, characters and plot, so they can familiarise themselves before their visit.
Financial support
The Everyman strives to offer heavily discounted education saver tickets to schools, but if you find that you are still struggling with the cost of the theatre tickets or coach transport, please contact us on groupsales@everymantheatre.org.uk and we’ll do anything we can to help support your visit to us.
We work in partnership with the charity theatre works! who may be able to provide funding for your tickets or transport, if you are eligible:
- 30% or more children are Pupil Premium
- children should be Key Stage 2-4, ages 7-16
theatre works! are a charity dedicated to providing theatre and related educational experiences to children and young people who might not normally have access to the theatre. They provide discounted or free theatre tickets through theatres, schools and youth groups.
