WHAT'S YOUR STORY? AN INTERGENERATIONAL PROJECT ENGAGING ELDERLY PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA

This project will start in 2017 and engage children and young people with elderly people in six specialist dementia care homes in Gloucestershire. Participants will come together to share life stories through the creative medium of the arts. Groups will work together over a six month period, choosing an arts activity as a way to share and explore their stories. There will be community sharing events at each venue as well as a collective opportunity for all partners to share with the wider community at a larger scale celebration. We are trying to raise £18,000 to fund this project.

DOORSTEP STORIES

The Everyman Theatre will continue to develop its work with homeless and vulnerably housed people in Cheltenham and Gloucester on a new project that will creatively explore participants' stories, giving all those taking part the opportunity to share their experiences and be heard. Working with well-known Forum Theatre company, Cardboard Citizens, emerging new writers and an experienced professional director, the stories will then be performed by professional actors to a public audience, including stakeholders and those who provide services to homeless people. we are patnering with the national organisation P3 on this inititatve - they have the contract through local government to support homeless people with complex needs. The project will take place in the autumn of 2017 and we are curently trying to raise £22,000 to support this work.
