The Kandour String Quartet will be coming to Chapel Arts with a programme of both contemporary and classical music, including some items from Russian movies.
Aleem Kandour, the Russian-born British founder of the group, graduated from the Royal College of Music three years ago, but as young as seven he was performing with the European Chamber Orchestra; at ten, he performed with the Prague Philharmonie at a Pavarotti tribute concert. He has performed in many famous venues, including the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and in Buckingham Palace. He has performed in China, Sweden, Japan, Jordan, France, Italy and Spain. In December 2019 he played alongside Maxim Vengerov at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, just a few days after playing in Sochi with the Sochi Philharmonia.
