Sleepy Hollow (1)
Stagedoor Learning presents The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with book by Helen Watts and music and lyrics by Eamonn O’Dwyer.
Based on the famous story by Washington Irving, and set in 1820s new England, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow tells the strange tale of a village in which myths and local folklore are believed by all. The tale of the Headless Horseman keeps the villagers out of the woods surrounding the village, and local children are taught to do as they are told, lest they meet a sticky end. Into this superstitious community comes new schoolteacher Ichabod Crane. His arrival disrupts the village as he tries to introduce the children and their parents to the world of science and rationality. But even his educated mind is unprepared for the strangeness that follows.
Featuring both first and second year BTEC students from Stagedoor Learning, which works in partnership with the Everyman Theatre, and is supported by VLUK Education, this musical production is suitable for the whole family.
This amateur production of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
