Rouhangeze Sings the Latin Jazz Songbook

This Event Takes Place @ Chapel Arts, Cheltenham (Chapel Arts, Knapp Road (Near St. James Square), Cheltenham. GL50 3QQ)

Rouhangeze is a contemporary multi-genre singer-songwriter, composer born on the island of Mauritius. This is a singer of depth encased with a velvet tone, sensuality, and with a compelling and uniquely different voice. She has performed at Ronnie Scott's, the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Opera House, theatres and festivals in the UK, across Europe to the legendary Olympia in Paris.   In 2017, Rouhangeze formed, "The Scientists", a leading jazz-fusion and F.M.E (Free Music Expression) band with Pianist Composer, Tomasz Bura. She is also part of the LCV Choir (London Contemporary Voices).

Accompanying Rouhangeze is Tommy Scott's trio with Flo Moore on bass and Sophie Alloway on drums. This trio has recently recorded an album to be released later in the year, and they are some of the most exciting talents on the UK jazz scene today.  For this performance, they will be playing some of the great Latin jazz classics including bossa nova songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Flora Purim, and more.
