Jazz at the Chapel: Tom Ridout Trio
This Event Takes Place @ Chapel Arts, Cheltenham (Chapel Arts, Knapp Road (Near St. James Square), Cheltenham. GL50 3QQ)
We are delighted to welcome jazz saxophonist, Tom Ridout, to Chapel Arts. Tom is known to many as the outstanding finalist who appeared on our television screens for the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 2016. Since then, he graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, he was the winner of the Lancaster Jazz Festival Youth Jazz Commission 2018, and was the recipient of the Essentially Ellington Outstanding Soloist Award. He is moving forward in a fast and thrilling career at the forefront of jazz, bringing jazz to both traditional and brand new audiences, as part of an exciting movement of jazz driven by the energy, vitality and creativity of a new generation of players.
Joining Tom this evening is the incredible Tommy Scott on piano, a prodigy inspired by Herbie Hancock, Danilo Perez, Kenny Kirkland, Joey Calderazzo, Brad Mehldau, and many others, forging his own unique sound and creativity into the world of jazz, and also at the forefront of a new and innovative sound of jazz piano. And on double bass, we are delighted to welcome back incredible musician, Flo Moore, another graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, and now making a big name on the international jazz stage as a musician of superb creativity and imagination.
This is the first public performance of Tom, Tommy and Flo, and we are in for a treat!
