From his early acclaim as a prize-winning saxophonist, Paul Booth has continually refined and expanded his talents as a solo artist, composer, arranger, and bandleader, whilst establishing an elite reputation as a first-call sideman for major contemporary artists.
Paul won the prestigious Clifford Brown/Stan Getz Fellowship in Miami, USA, and toured with the European Glenn Miller Orchestra before landing the saxophone chair for the worldwide smash hit show, Riverdance. Paul has toured, performed & recorded around the world with Steve Winwood, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Steely Dan, Carlos Santana, Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Kylie Minogue, Jamiroquai, Gregory Porter, Barry Manilow, Eddie Henderson, Geoffrey Keezer, Clarence Penn, Ingrid Jensen, Incognito, Brand New Heavies, The BBC Big Band, Roberto Pla, and Latin pianist Alex Wilson.
Paul currently performs his own music with a number of different groups, including the critically acclaimed Patchwork Project, featuring the singer Jacqui Dankworth, an organ trio with Ross Stanley, and the world music big band Bansangu Orchestra.
Tommy Scott will be on piano for this concert. Tommy is becoming well known for his dazzling and musical performances and has played with many well-known players in the UK, such as Mornington Lockett, Jean Toussaint, and Dave O'Higgins.
As one of the premier bassists of his generation in the UK, Max Luthert is known for his distinctive bass sound, approach to improvisation. In the last couple of years, Max has been performing around the world with artists such as Zara McFarlane, Duncan Eagles, Moses Boyd, Ralph Wyld, and Gabriel Zucker.
