A Recital With David Powell & Robert Markham

Join us for a recital of Russian music with David Powell (cello) and Robert Markham (piano).

David Powell was appointed Sub-Principal Cellist of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra by Sir Simon Rattle, a position he still holds today under their music director Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla. He has collaborated with many of the world's finest conductors and soloists and has toured and recorded extensively.

Robert Markham is an internationally-renowned pianist and teacher who has won numerous prizes at major international competitions. His extensive performance career includes appearances in Great Britain, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and across Western Europe. He is currently Senior Tutor in Piano at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Programme to include Rachmaninov’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor Op. 19, as well as works by Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.
