Really Want To Hurt Me

Really Want To Hurt Me

Devon, 1984. Constant pressure to be straight makes a schoolboy feel like he’s living in George Orwell’s 1984. School bullies. Teenage heartache. Hating yourself. Trying to tape the Top 40 off the radio without the DJ talking over the songs. Dancing defiantly to your Walkman to stay alive.

Flaming Theatre’s acclaimed dark comedy with dance sequences and a classic ‘80s soundtrack comes to Cheltenham after sold-out dates at Soho Theatre and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

There will be a Post Show Discussion following the performance on Friday 18th October.

There will be a creative writing workshop with Flaming Theatre, for all abilities, with a particular emphasis on LGBT writing. The workshop is FREE and open to the public and will take place from 3.30 - 5.30pm. Book your space on the workshop HERE

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
