Beneath The Blue Rinse

Beneath The Blue Rinse

Brilliant new writing, by Tom Glover, Beneath the Blue Rinse exposes how society views and treats the elderly, exploding stereotypes and questioning the practises of our so-called ‘care system’. It's an outrageous comedy, deftly directed by Kevin Tomlinson, winner of the Rose Bruford Trust Directors’ Award and founder of Kepow!, a leading comedy theatre company.

When an unscrupulous salesman, Simon Sudgebury enters sweet but gullible, Flora Parkin’s house, he’s convinced he can worry her into buying an unnecessary security alarm system. Little does he realise he’s been lured into a trap, for she and her partner George, code name Phoenix Thunder, are founder members of OPAL -The Older People’s Armed League. Simon starts to learn what it is like to be vulnerable, exploited, ignored, and subject to the care of others……who may not care at all. There’s bad language, violence and sexual themes - mainly from Flora. This is comedy with a vicious bite. Think Tarantino meets Last of the Summer Wine.

Age range:
14+, strong language, violence and mild sexual scenes. Parental guidance advised.
