A Gloucestershire Midwinter (Kings Theatre)

A Gloucestershire Midwinter Kings Theatre

An Everyman Theatre Production in association with Hammerpuzzle Theatre Company

"Whose woods these are I think I know.His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here.To see his woods fill up with snow."

As the river freezes over and snow lands in drifts, we delve into the winter memories of a group of travellers heading home for Christmas. From 'Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening' to the Tale of Oxbode Lane, from Holst's 'Bleak Mid Winter' to a mummers play from South Cerney.

Join our ensemble cast as they tell stories, celebrate and reflect on the festive
season with a collection of live literature, poetry, music and song, all from the local
area of Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.

"Icicles hang from the gutters like glass silk stockings and drip hot drops. Today is the winter as it always was."

This production is supported using public funding by Arts Council England

Note: The Performance on Wednesday is a "pay what you can" performance. Choose free tickets online and pay what you can in the collection buckets at the theatre. Proceeds go to The Butterfly Garden.
