Gloucestershire’s Everyman Theatre wins national funding

Bosses at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre are celebrating after securing Arts Council England funding for the next four years and receiving praise for being a venue where “excellence is thriving and celebrated in the Arts”. The Victorian theatre has secured funding of over £300,000 per year which will enable it to continue offering top shows; opportunities for local theatre groups and projects for people of all ages across the county.

The Everyman’s Chief Executive, Mark Goucher said: “We are delighted that the continuing high standard of work at the Everyman has again been recognised by the Arts Council. It will enable us to deliver a great theatre experience to children, young adults and each member of our catchment area.

“I will strive to deliver the best quality musicals and drama in the main house while Paul Milton will do the same in our Studio Theatre. I do not need to doubt the commitment of every member of my staff here at The Everyman. Their dedication to this theatre is truly astounding and is why we have again been successful with this round of funding.”

Paul Milton, Creative Director, added: “I am really pleased that the Arts Council recognises the Everyman’s extensive creative output – in particular, our work in local communities and with children and young people”.
