Inspired by Holst - Actor Callout

A Cheltenham Playhouse/Everyman Theatre collaboration

To commemorate 150 years since the birth of Cheltenham-born composer Gustav Holst, we are inviting local writers to write a 30-minute play based on a title of a work by Holst (e.g. In the Bleak Midwinter, Hammersmith, Japanese Suite, the Perfect Fool, the Planets). Three plays will be chosen for performance by professional and community actors at the Cheltenham Playhouse in September 2024.

We are now looking for a number of actors to work on this project.

The plays will be staged at the Playhouse in September 2024 (production/show week 23rd - 28th Sept, shows 26th- 28th) and rehearsals will be evenings and weekends in September.

The project is being overseen by Kieron Milsom (Playhouse) and Paul Milton (Everyman) and it's a great opportunity for the two venues to work together. Arts Council England has specifically funded resources for a professional director, Kirstie Davis, as well as two professional actors to give amateur actors and writers the chance to work alongside professionals.

We are looking for amateur actors (aged 18 or over) to perform in these plays.

If you’re interested in auditioning, please contact by 19th July, auditions will be on the 27th July.  Audition material will be provided prior to the 27th.
