The Butterfly Lion
Michael Morpurgo, Children’s Laureate 2003-5, catapulted onto the world stage in 2007 with the National Theatre production of his book War Horse. From the acclaimed writer of War Horse comes this award winning tale of enduring friendship. When the orphaned white lion cub that Bertie has rescued is sold to a circus owner and shipped out of Africa to Europe, Bertie vows he will see his friend again. Little does he realise the adventurous, romantic, shocking turns his life will take before that momentous day finally comes.
